Lee Herrington : MSc MSCP CSCS Qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist in 1990 from Manchester University, having previously completed a degree in Human Biology from Loughborough University. In 1996 was awarded an MSc in Sports Injury and Therapy from Manchester Metropolitan University (with distinction). He has also been certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (USA) as a strength and conditioning specialist and by the Cincinnati Sports Medicine Research and Education foundation as a Sportsmetrics trainer (www.sportsmetrics.net).

Currently, Lecturer in Sports Rehabilitation, University of Salford; Visiting Lecturer in Sports Physiotherapy, Manchester Metropolitan University and Prince Faisal Sports Medicine Hospital, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; Lead Physiotherapist, Esprit Exercise and Sports Rehabilitation; Member of the International advisory board to the journal of Physical Therapy in Sport.

He has worked with elite sportspersons for the last fifteen years including time with Great Britain Rugby League and Wigan Warriors Rugby League Club. Also, consultative work for a number of professional football clubs and individual elite level sportspersons from a multitude of sports including athletics, climbing, martial arts, sailing, swimming, and triathlon.

Specialist areas of clinical interest are the treatment and rehabilitation of sports injuries, specifically Patellofemoral joint pain and rehabilitation following knee surgery (principally ACL and complex ligament reconstruction). Lee has taught nationally and internationally on topics related to knee injury and post-surgical rehabilitation and is a featured expert on the physioroom.com website (www.physioroom.com).

Current research interests include: assessment and treatment of lower limb motion control (proprioceptive) deficits; assessment and treatment of Patellofemoral joint pain; lower limb patho-neurodynamics and muscle injury. Lee has had over thirty five peer reviewed articles published in the field of exercise rehabilitation and has presented his research at many international conferences.
